Producing 120 translated ad creatives in a fraction of the usual time.
How a Figma and Google Sheets pipeline let Synexus.com produce ad creative in 8 languages 6-10x faster, with translators and designers working in parallel.
Translating ad copy for 8 core countries was slow on its own. Layer on translators and designers working on the same creative without a shared system, and one change to the master creative meant re-adapting it by hand across every other market, with translation errors and correction round-trips eating into the time saved.
What we built
- One shared database in Google Sheets holding every text component, broken out by language.
- Universal graphic components and ad templates in Figma, built to the brand book, developed together with the design team.
- Full rollout: access, permissions, training.
The result
- The first campaign under the new system produced 120 creatives across languages in 6-10x less time than the previous process.
- Multiple translators can correct copy simultaneously, directly in the shared Google Sheet, with no file-passing and no version conflicts.
- Built-in Google Translate support inside the sheet speeds up first drafts, and gives designers an early word-count estimate so they can size the creative correctly before copy is final.
- Design and copy review happens in Figma with unlimited simultaneous viewers and commenters, at no extra cost per seat.
- Fewer handoffs between departments means fewer “which version is current” conversations, since there’s one source of truth for copy and creative alike.
- Designers spend their time on the creative templates themselves, not on manually re-adapting the same ad eight times over.
Takeaway
The bottleneck was never translation speed. It was the handoffs between the people translating and the people designing. Put both in the same shared file, and the multi-language ad production line runs itself.
